Landscape 2026: Serene & Savage

The MVA Gallery (Modern Visual Arts) invites artists, photographers and sculptors of all levels (emerging to established) to submit original artwork to this exhibition. This is a National Call for Entries open to artists, photographers and sculptors from all regions and states. Artists must be 18 years of age or older and current residents of the United States.

The exhibition theme explores Landscape Art in all its forms. Nature can be tranquil and comforting — beautiful gardens, picturesque seacoasts, glowing sunsets and sunrises, gentle rain showers, mighty trees and graceful clouds. Nature can also be ferocious and dangerous — raging thunderstorms, jagged mountain cliffs, uncontrollable floods, earthquake carnage and hostile wilderness. Artists are invited to share personal interpretations and visions of Landscape. They can be serene or savage, intimate or vast, somber or bright, mysterious or lucid, realistic or imaginary. Human figures can be absent, dominant or diminutive. In addition to depicting landscapes and seascapes, images may also include structures and architectural elements. Panoramic views, portrayals of individual flowers, trees, birds and animals, reflections and shadows are all welcome. Any style is acceptable: representational, abstract, impressionist, cubist, expressionist — or a synthesis that you created. The MVA Gallery accepts painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed media, digital, pastel, encaustic, ink, sculpture, fiber, drawing and photography.

Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 images. Additional files may be included for $5.00 each up to a total of 9 maximum. Exhibition Dates: May 9 – June 6, 2026. Notification to Artists: On or about March 10, 2026. Awards include the Art of Distinction Award (one artist will be selected and featured in a special exhibit at the MVA Gallery, Exhibition Room 2), one New York City Exhibition opportunity (one artist selected from all individuals accepted and displayed in an MVA Gallery exhibit during the past calendar year), and Director's Choice Award ($200 optional award at the discretion of the Executive Director). Many accepted submissions will appear with artists' names on the MVA Gallery Instagram page @mvaartgallery several days after the opening date. Artists can determine whether they wish to sell their artwork. For sales, the artist must list a specific price. Commission: 70% of the final sale price to the Artist, 30% to the Gallery.
