LANDSCAPE

LANDSCAPE is a photography and mixed media exhibition exploring landscape imagery and interpretation. The call invites artists to submit work exploring how individuals interact with the landscape, how they capture their place within it, or how they track change or preserve it. Open to straight landscape photography, created landscapes, abstracted work, composite worlds, and other interpretations.

Media accepted includes photography, digital art, graphic design, illustration, videography, gifs, new media, painting, drawing, printmaking, and anything that can be printed or displayed digitally. Entry fee is $12 for 3 images, with $6 per additional image up to 10 total submissions. International artists are eligible. Juror: Jeremiah Morris, Curator and Founder of Specto Art Space.

Awards include Best in Show (print included for sale in Specto's booth at Superfine! DC 2019) and two Honorable Mention awards ($100 each). Accepted artists will be notified 10-14 days after the deadline and have 7 days to provide print-ready files. Specto prints all exhibition work for free using archival printing methods and handles display, which may include experimental installation processes. All works are offered for sale through Specto's site and gallery space, with Specto retaining a 35% commission on sales. Artists retain copyright of their work and can display work elsewhere. After each show, all works are cataloged in an archive to promote artists beyond the exhibition dates.
