About This Call
Manhattan Arts Center in partnership with Greater Manhattan Community Foundation (GMCF) invites professional artists or artist teams to submit qualifications to design and fabricate a significant sculpture piece for the front corner of Landmark Bank - Poyntz Avenue location. The piece will be funded through GMCF Community Arts fund and private support.
The artwork should reflect a sense of joy and happiness, welcoming visitors to the bank and to Downtown Manhattan. The artwork should incorporate themes of growth and stability, emphasizing the strength of both Landmark Bank and the Manhattan community. It should be a source of pride and beauty for the community. Themes of life and growth could be reflected in this piece.
This public art commission is open to all professional artists or artist teams with experience in similar projects. Priority will be given to local/regional artists in Manhattan and throughout Kansas, including the Midwest. Application requirements include an artist statement reflecting your interest in this project, a resume, 3 references, and at least 3 photographs of past works with annotations. Entry fee is $20.00. Work samples may include 3-20 images, 0-6 audio files, and 0-6 video files.
