About This Call
The Lake Effect Artists Collective presents their Annual Outdoor Summer Art Show on Saturday July 5 and Sunday July 6, 2025, in the Stony Lake/Cobmoosa Shores area of Shelby, Michigan. This artist-run show is designed by artists for artists, providing an opportunity to showcase, sell, and gain exposure to a receptive and supportive audience. The event coincides with Fourth of July weekend celebrations and the popular Stony Lake Sparkler 5K, which draws over 1900 participants and creates significant foot traffic.
This soft-juried outdoor show features local, regional, and out-of-state artists from every creative discipline including 2-D and 3-D work, pottery, glass, metalworks, sculpture, painting, jewelry, textiles, woodwork, and more. To ensure success for individual participating artists, booth spaces are limited to a maximum of 50 artists. The jury panel focuses on bringing balance and variety of mediums while avoiding over-saturation of artist categories. All art must be original and handmade by the artist.
Booth spaces are approximately 10' x 10' with at least 2 feet between booths, priced at $50 for the two-day event. Double booths (10' x 20') are available for $125 on a limited basis. An early bird discount of 15% is offered for applications submitted by April 30. Artists must use a canopy tent (preferably white) and are responsible for securing their booths with weights. The show provides free artist parking, bathroom facilities, complimentary bottled water and morning coffee, easy load-in/load-out, floating booth sitters, and free Wi-Fi. Show hours are Saturday 10:30 AM - 5:00 PM and Sunday 10:30 AM - 4:00 PM.
