LaGrange National XXVIII

The LaGrange National XXVIII is a juried biennial competition open to all artists in the United States over 18 years of age. The competition is sponsored by the LaGrange Art Museum and the Lamar Dodd Art Center of LaGrange College, both located in LaGrange, Georgia. Work must be original, completed within the last two years, and not previously exhibited in a LaGrange National Biennial exhibition.

Three categories are available: Paintings, Prints & Drawings; Photography; and Ceramics, Sculpture & Decorative Arts. Artists may enter up to 4 works per category with a $35 entry fee. Paintings, Prints & Drawings will be exhibited at the LaGrange Art Museum, while Photography, Ceramics, Sculpture, and Decorative Arts will be exhibited at the Lamar Dodd Art Center. The juror for this year is Annette Cone-Skelton, Co-Founder/President/CEO/Founding Director of The Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia.

At least $15,000 in Purchase Awards will be made, with purchased works added to the permanent collections of the sponsors. Merit Awards will also be presented to a limited number of works. Accepted artists will be notified by January 25, 2014. Work must be delivered between January 25 and February 7, 2014. The exhibitions will open with an award ceremony and gala receptions on February 21, 2014, and remain on view through April 18, 2014. Work accepted for exhibition cannot be withdrawn before the close of the exhibition.
