Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder, Critis in Residence

In 2021, Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder (LKV) and ArtScene Trondheim initiated a collaboration aimed at highlighting the role of art criticism in Norway through a residency program. The cultural city of Trondheim has experienced rapid growth in recent years, with new artist collectives, private art galleries, museums, and theatres emerging. The program invites critics from outside the city to immerse themselves in the vibrant local art scene.

Selected critics are offered accommodation and a workspace for up to one month at Lademoen Kunstnerverksteder. The critic receives a grant of NOK 15,000 from ArtScene Trondheim and accommodation in a fully equipped guest apartment with one bedroom. The program is open to international applicants working in craft/traditional arts, photography, drawing, film/video/new media, mixed-media/multi-discipline, painting, and sculpture.
