About This Call
The Lakeland Arts Association 53rd Annual Fine Art Exhibition is open to all artists in the Central Florida area. The exhibition will be held at the Melvin Gallery, located at Florida Southern College (1118-1198 Johnson Ave., Lakeland, FL 33803) from June 27 to July 25, 2025.
Artists may submit a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 original works of any medium except giclees, video, and performance. All works must be available for the entire run of the show. The entry fee is $40.00. Artwork must be delivered during drop-off dates: Saturday, June 14, 2025, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., or Monday, June 16, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The exhibition features awards totaling $2,550, including Best of Show ($1,000), Second Place ($600), Third Place ($400), two Awards of Merit ($100 each), two Honorable Mentions ($50 each), and the Mal Surrency Watercolor Award ($250). The juror is Richard D. Colvin, an artist, art teacher, museum professional, and musician. All works will be for sale at prices set by the artist unless marked NFS (not for sale). Artists who sell work during the exhibition will donate 20% of the sold price to the Lakeland Arts Association and retain 80%. All entries are delivered at the owner's risk; neither the Lakeland Arts Association nor Florida Southern College will be responsible for damage or theft. Photographs of accepted works may be used by the Lakeland Arts Association for promotional purposes.
