About This Call
Beauty—ever-changing, always subjective, and often imperfect—is a powerful quality that can transform and inspire. This exhibition invites submissions of handcrafted photographic prints exploring your vision of beauty. Accepted print types include experimental silver gelatin, albumen, anthotype, argyrotype, calotype, carbon, casein, chrysotype, cyanotype, gum bichromate, gumoil, photopolymer gravure, ivorytype, kallitype, mordançage, platinum/palladium, van dyke brown, wet plate collodion, and combinations thereof.
Images may originate from a digital camera and/or digital negative, provided the final print is handmade and not digitally printed. AI-generated images are not accepted. All submitted work is displayed on individual artist pages featuring your bio, artist statement, contact information, and sales information of your choice. L.A. Photo Curator takes no commissions; artists are responsible for sales.
The first place winner receives a Q&A with a juror and a review that will be featured in an online piece about the artist. The first place image will appear on the splash page for one month. Five percent of artist entry fees supports the Immigrant Defense Project, chosen by jurors Diana H. Bloomfield and Christina Z. Anderson. An additional 5% of artist fees from the first place winner goes to a charity of the winner's choice.
