About This Call
LA Artcore announces its 2nd Annual Online Photographic Competition and Exhibition. The exhibition in February 2018 will celebrate LA Artcore's 39 years of supporting contemporary art and developing the careers of visual artists of diverse cultural backgrounds. This competition seeks outstanding photography completed in the last two years.
Sixty juror-selected images will be exhibited at LA Artcore's historic downtown gallery in The Los Angeles Brewery Arts Colony, one of the oldest and largest live-work spaces in the world, covering 23 acres in 14 buildings. The competition is open to all amateur and professional photographers over the age of 18 residing in North America, working in all still photographic media. There is no theme; any subject matter is eligible. All work must have been completed on or after January 1, 2016, and not previously entered in this competition. LAAC staff and Board Members are not eligible.
Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 entries, with additional entries at $10.00 each, up to 5 entries total. Submissions must include 3-5 images. Up to five wall-mounted works are accepted, not exceeding 60" in width, 72" height, 24" in depth, and 30 lbs. in weight. Works must be mounted; unmounted works will not be accepted. No video or audio submissions are accepted at this time. Awards include $1,000 (1st Place), $500 (2nd Place), $250 (3rd Place), and 2 Honorable Mentions as determined by the jury panel. Artists will be notified of results by December 21, 2017. Art delivery period for accepted works is January 25-31, 2018, between 12 and 5 p.m. in person or via UPS/FedEx. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. LA Artcore will retain 35% of all sales; artwork selected for exhibition must be available for sale. The exhibition opens February 11 and closes February 27, 2018.
