LA Artcore 1st Annual Photographic Competition and Exhibition

LA Artcore (LAAC) announces its 1st Annual Online Photographic Competition and Exhibition. The exhibition in February 2017 celebrates LA Artcore's 38 years of supporting contemporary art and developing the careers of visual artists of diverse cultural backgrounds. This competition seeks outstanding photography completed on or after January 1, 2015.

Sixty juror-selected images will be exhibited at LA Artcore's downtown historic gallery in The Los Angeles Brewery, one of the oldest and largest art colonies in the world, covering 23 acres in 14 buildings with 500-700 artists and businesses. The competition is open to all amateur and professional photographers over the age of 18, working in all still photographic media with no theme restrictions. LAAC staff and Board Members are not eligible. Up to five wall-mounted works are accepted, not exceeding 60" in width, 72" in height, 24" in depth, and 30 lbs in weight. Video and audio are not accepted.

Entry fee is $35.00 for 3 entries, with additional entries at $10.00 each up to 5 total entries. Cash awards will be given as determined by the jury panel: $1,000 (1st Place), $500 (2nd Place), $200 (3rd Place), and 2 Honorable Mentions. Artists will be notified of results by December 21st, 2016. Art delivery period is January 19-25, 2017, between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. in person or via UPS. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. LA Artcore will retain 35% of all sales; artwork selected for exhibition must be available for sale. The exhibition opens February 12, 2017, with an opening reception at 1-5 p.m. and awards at 2:00 p.m., closing February 26, 2017.
