About This Call
L7 Gallery invites all artists to apply to the Fall 2025 Exhibition "Sharing Mythologies". The exhibition explores personal myths such as "computer-nerd", "astrological sign", or "rugged individual" alongside cultural myths of "belonging" based on race, religion or nationality, and the myth of "progress". Artists are encouraged to submit existing work or new work created in response to these themes. Imagery emerging from these intersecting mythologies can be humorous, poignant, or profoundly sad.
L7 Gallery's mission is to provide contemporary artists an opportunity to present original work to audiences in the Pacific Northwest and beyond through both a physical gallery and online presence. The gallery values artistic imagination and personal expression over consistency in style. Drawing, painting, and mixed-media works (oil, acrylic, watercolor) are accepted. Maximum artwork size is 48 x 48 inches with a maximum weight of 20 pounds. All artwork must be wired and ready to hang. Pastel, charcoal, or other media that can be damaged by touch must be framed behind glass or similar protective shield. Photography, computer-generated, and AI artwork will not be accepted. Artists must be 18 years or older and submit 1 to 3 images for consideration.
The exhibition runs November 7-28, 2025. First, second, and third place prizes of $500, $300, and $200 will be awarded. Winners will be announced on opening night, November 7, 2025, and notified on November 8, 2025. Winners need not be present to win. The juror is Dewitt Cheng, art writer and critic, co-editor of Square Cylinder.com, and former curator at Stanford Art Spaces and the Peninsula Museum of Art. Entry fee is $30. Artwork drop-off is November 7-10, 2025, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Artwork pickup is December 3-6, 2025, 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
