Kranj Foto Fest Open Call for Exhibitions 2026

Kranj Foto Fest, one of Europe's leading photography festivals, will celebrate its 6th edition in 2026. The Exhibition Program for 2026 is now open, inviting photographers to apply for a chance to have their work featured in the official program. The Open Call is open to all with no thematic, age, or regional restrictions. Photographers from all backgrounds and levels are invited to apply, with no theme or technique limitations. Submissions should be part of a story, series, or project.

For one month at the height of the European summer, the old town of Kranj will transform into an exciting hub of contemporary photography, bringing together emerging and established photographers from around the world. Selected artists will work closely with the curatorial team to plan exhibitions and showcase their work to a qualified audience including curators, photo editors, gallery owners, and publishers from Slovenia and abroad.

Eligibility: Photographers, visual artists, and visual storytellers 18 years and older (individuals, duets, or collectives) from all over the world. The jury will select one winner for a solo exhibition at Kranj Foto Fest 2026, a €1,000 cash prize, and travel expenses to Kranj, Slovenia of up to €400. Up to 12 additional projects will be selected for participation in group exhibitions. All selected artists will receive three nights of accommodation in Kranj during the festival's opening week in August 2026, and the festival will cover production costs of the exhibitions. Application fee: €12 for one project; €16 for two projects (€4 additional for the second project).
