Kokomo Sculpture Walk 2019-2021

The City of Kokomo invites sculptors to participate in the 2019-2021 juried, on-loan, outdoor Sculpture Walk exhibit in downtown Kokomo, Indiana. Eight selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $2,000 per piece and will enter into an Art Loan Agreement with the Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance. Sculptures will be installed and on display along Kokomo's downtown trails and waterways from April 2019 through March 2021.

Eligibility: Only completed artwork will be considered. Artists must own the rights to the artwork, which must be available for the duration of the two-year exhibition period. Artwork must be ready to set on 8' x 8' cement pads with installation via welded tabs or similar easy-install method. The exhibit is outdoors and open to the public, so each sculpture must be constructed of durable materials that will withstand year-round Indiana weather. Fragile or dangerous works will not be accepted. Artists may submit up to two sculptures for consideration, with each submission considered separately.

Submission Requirements: Each submission must include a bio/resume describing exhibition history, three images of the work (front, back, and one detail), dimensions (HxWxD) with base not exceeding the 8' x 8' cement pad, and stated insurance value. Selected artists are responsible for transportation of artwork to and from the installation site, which must be exhibition-ready. The Greater Kokomo Economic Development Alliance and City of Kokomo will supervise installation and insure the artwork for the duration of the exhibit. Jury selections will be announced by March 7, 2019. Delivery and installation: March 21-April 4, 2019. Sculptures to be removed: February 15-March 15, 2021.
