Kipaipai Workshop Ojai 2023

Kipaipai, meaning "To Encourage or Inspire," is a professional development program focusing on gallery representation, museum exhibitions, professional relationships, self-promotion, social media strategy, critical writing, and personal/professional goal identification. Sixteen participants will be selected by a jury of professionals for a two-day workshop on best professional practices in the creative industry.

The workshop will run Saturday-Sunday, January 28-29, 2023 from 9am-4pm at the Ojai Retreat & Inn in Ojai, California, with optional morning and evening activities. Check-in for onsite participants is Friday, January 27, 2023 after 3pm. Participants will engage in private one-on-one sessions and group meetings with guest professionals who will tailor strategies and goals to individual artists' needs.

Accepted artists will be notified by Monday, November 14, 2022. Tuition is $1,400 (includes housing, breakfast, and lunch) or $900 (without housing). Tuition must be paid within 30 days of acceptance to hold a place. Artists are responsible for their own travel expenses. Applicants must speak and understand English, have a working practice in the visual arts (curators welcome), and be able to travel to Ojai for the workshop dates. Entry fee is $45. Application deadline is November 1, 2022 at 5pm MDT.
