Kipaipai Workshop in Mill Valley, California

Kipaipai, meaning 'To Encourage and Inspire,' is a professional development workshop focusing on gallery representation and museum exhibitions, self-promotion, social media marketing, critical writing, presentation skills, and personal/professional goal strategizing.

The workshop runs August 7-8, 2021 from 10am-5pm, with optional morning and evening activities. Check-in is Friday, August 6 at 3pm, with a Welcome event at 5pm. Sixteen participants will be selected by jury. Accepted artists will be notified by June 1, 2021 and must pay tuition of $1,300 (housing and meals included) in advance to confirm their place. Participants are responsible for their own travel and expenses. The workshop will be held at Ralston White Retreat Center and will abide by all Covid safety health codes and protocols.

Participants will have one-on-one sessions and group meetings with guest professionals including art historians, curators, artists, marketing experts, and arts administrators. Entry fee is $50. Applicants must submit 5-10 images (or up to 16 total samples including audio and video) representing their body of work. Application deadline is May 24, 2021 at 5pm PST.
