About This Call
This workshop program at Willow Pond Retreat in Edna Valley, California focuses on professional practices in gallery representation, museum exhibitions, self-promotion, social media use, critical writing, presentation, and identifying and strategizing personal and professional goals.
The workshop takes place January 16-18, 2026. Check-in is Friday, January 16 after 3pm with a welcome mixer at 5pm. Workshop sessions run Saturday-Sunday, January 17-18 from 9am-4:30pm, with optional morning and evening activities at Willow Pond Retreat and surrounding vineyards. Daily breakfast and lunch are provided. Sixteen participants will be selected by a jury of professionals. Through private one-on-one sessions and group meetings, students will meet with a team of guest professionals.
Entry fee is $50. Accepted artists will be notified by Friday, August 29, 2025 and must pay a $500 deposit by September 15, 2025 to hold their spot, with full tuition of $950 due by November 15, 2025. Artists are responsible for their own travel and housing expenses. Applicants must speak and understand English, have a working practice in the visual arts (curators welcome), and submit a complete application including images and artist statement. Eligibility is national.
