Kipaipai Retreat Workshop at Willow Pond SLO

This professional development workshop at Willow Pond Retreat in Edna Valley, California focuses on gallery representation, museum exhibitions, self-promotion, social media strategy, critical writing, presentation skills, and community building. The workshop will take place July 10-12, 2026, with check-in on Friday, July 10 after 3pm and a welcome mixer at 4:30pm. Workshop sessions run Saturday-Sunday, July 10-12 from 9am-4:30pm, with optional morning and evening activities available.

16 participants will be selected by a jury of professionals. Workshop tuition is $1,075 and includes breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. A $500 deposit is due by May 1, 2026 to hold a spot, with full tuition due by June 1, 2026. Artists are responsible for their own travel and housing expenses, though special rates have been reserved at a local hotel. Accepted artists will be notified by Friday, March 20, 2026. California artists may qualify for an Artist Quick Grant for professional development through CCI to help supplement tuition.

Applicants must speak and understand English and have a working practice in the visual arts (curators welcome). The application deadline is March 9, 2026 at 5pm MDT. Applicants must submit 5-10 images, and may optionally include up to 3 audio files and 3 video files (5-16 total samples). An artist statement is required. Entry fee is $50.
