About This Call
Festival in the Park presents the 16th annual Kings Drive Art Walk, taking place Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm and Sunday, May 3, 2026 from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. This spring fine arts event will be held along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway between East Morehead Street and Pearle Street Bridge along Kings Drive, featuring beautiful arbors, spring gardens, a spectacular fountain and plentiful terraces. The greenway is bordered by many favorite local restaurants and boutiques.
With a focus on fine and emerging artists, this outdoor festival welcomes original work attributable solely to the display artist. The application fee is $325.00 for a 10x10 space, with an additional $60.00 fee for electricity if needed. Artists are encouraged to demonstrate their craft during event hours, and exhibitors must participate for the entire two days. The event provides tent location assignment, one 110 electrical outlet per tent (maximum four 100-watt spots), accessible booth locations, exhibitor parking, and 24-hour security.
Exhibitors must provide their own white professional tent (no larger than 10x10), display equipment, tables, chairs, and electrical equipment. Each tent must be secured at each corner with a minimum of 40-pound weights and include fire retardant certification. Artists are responsible for collecting North Carolina and County of Mecklenburg sales tax (8.25%). The event takes no commission for art sales, and exhibit spaces are awarded based on quality and variety of the exhibitor pool.
