About This Call
The Kroger Company invites Colorado-based artists and artist teams to apply for the creation of a two-dimensional mural to be installed in King Soopers Store #146 in Fort Collins, Colorado. The mural will be displayed on the main entrance wall at 2535 S. College Ave., Fort Collins, CO 80525, and should celebrate the spirit of Fort Collins and its surrounding area.
The artwork dimensions are 24'W x 8'H and will be applied to panels before installation by a Kroger subcontractor. The mural should not obstruct the right of way or impede pedestrian traffic flow. A total budget of $10,000.00 is available per artist or team. All artwork must be fabricated from highly durable, low-maintenance materials suitable for public art exposure.
Up to three artists or artist teams will be selected as semi-finalists and will receive a $300.00 stipend to develop a concept proposal. Semi-finalists will have the opportunity to meet with the Selection Committee, develop a concept design, and install the mural at the designated site. The store is slated to open in early 2025. Applications must include 4-6 digital images of previously completed artworks/murals, a statement of interest (2000 words or less), and a one-to-two-page résumé or CV highlighting professional accomplishments and prior public art experience. There is no application fee. Contact Mary Valdez, Public Art Program Manager, at [email protected] for questions.
