Kinetic Energy: A Celebration of Sport and Movement

Kinetic Energy is an open call to artists seeking work that captures the movement, emotion, and spirit of sport through visual art. This exhibition honors athletic expression and its deep roots in Palm Beach County's cultural landscape.

Artists may submit up to 5 works in various forms, including painting, sculpture, photography, works on paper, installations, digital art, video, crafts, and textiles. Artists are encouraged to interpret the theme broadly, exploring topics such as the beauty of motion, psychological focus and emotional aspects of athletics, the role of sports in community and culture, energy and rhythm in athletic performance, sports and technology, symbolism of sport, and the relationship between outdoor sports and natural landscapes.

Eligibility is limited to Palm Beach County based artists. Submissions open December 15, 2025 and close January 30, 2026. Applicants will be notified of acceptance no later than February 13, 2026. Selected works will be delivered and installed April 13, 2026, with an opening reception April 16, 2026. The exhibition runs April 17 – June 12, 2026 at the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County, 601 Lake Ave., Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460. Deinstallation is June 15, 2026.
