About This Call
Current is a juried art exhibition exploring the theme of what defines "current" in today's dynamic, multifaceted art scene influenced by technology, social issues, and global interconnectedness. The exhibition will feature nearly fifty artworks at Kehler Liddell Gallery in New Haven, Connecticut from January 8 – February 1, 2026, with an opening reception on January 11 (2-5pm) and closing reception on February 1 (3-5pm).
Kehler Liddell is a retail art gallery in the vibrant Westville neighborhood, founded in 2003 by local artists and established as one of the preeminent galleries in the region. The collectively operated gallery has a membership of over twenty-five established artists who have exhibited at institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Guggenheim, the Library of Congress, and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. The jury consists of a panel of Kehler Liddell artists with decades of combined experience as creators, educators, and exhibition professionals.
Artists can submit up to 3 works in any media for a $35 jurying fee. Selected artists will be notified by December 12, 2025. Wall-hanging works should not exceed 52 inches wide and 90 inches tall, and all works must be delivered ready to hang or display. For sales, the commission split is 60% artist / 40% gallery, with checks sent 2 weeks after the exhibition closes. Artists are responsible for their own insurance and shipping costs.
