KCAC's 40th Anniversary River Market Regional Invitational Exhibition

KCAC's 40th Anniversary River Market Regional Invitational Exhibition is open to artists who have been selected and shown in any KCAC exhibition since 1976, including all gallery shows, Public Hanging, Open Studios, group shows, and Underground exhibitions. Entries must be current original work. All visual media is eligible. Work requiring special installation, including large or heavy works, will be accepted only if the artist is available to install on August 4. Video submissions are accepted; KCAC has two 42-inch LED monitors and blu-ray players available, though artists requiring different equipment must provide it for the duration of the exhibition.

The entry fee is $20 for 1-5 entries and is non-refundable. Artists who join or renew membership by June 10, 2016 prior to entering will receive a discount coupon code for a 50% member discount. Submissions must include 1-5 images and up to 5 videos (minimum 1 total sample, maximum 10 total samples). Images should be high quality, showing only the artwork with no background or details. Accepted works will be notified beginning June 30 via email. The exhibition offers $2,000 in cash prizes. Janet Simpson, KCAC Executive Director, will select artworks for the exhibition.

Accepted works must be delivered July 22-23 between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., either by hand delivery or prepaid shipping. Hand-delivered works must be picked up September 23-24, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Shipped works will be returned September 26-30. The Artists Coalition provides insurance for the exhibition and takes a 30% commission on work sold. Artists are responsible for providing their own insurance during shipment. The opening reception is August 12, 5-8 p.m., and the exhibition ends September 22.
