About This Call

The Kansas City Artists Coalition invites artists to submit work for the River Market Regional Exhibition 2014, held at the Artists Coalition's Mallin and Charno Galleries from July 11 to August 22, 2014. The exhibition is open to current residents of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, or Oklahoma. Entries must be original work completed in the last two years and not previously shown in The Artists Coalition's Galleries.

Visual art in all media is eligible, including 2D, 3D, video, painting, sculpture, and installation. Work requiring special installation will be accepted only if the artist is available to install on July 9. Video submissions require LG 3-D 42-inch LED monitors and blu-ray players; artists requiring different equipment must provide it for the exhibition duration. Submissions are made through CaFÉ at www.CallForEntry.org. Artists may submit 1 to 6 works, with an entry fee of $30 for the first entry and $5 for each additional entry (up to 5 extra images or videos). KCAC members receive a 50% discount on the entry fee. Work samples must include a minimum of 1 and maximum of 6 total images or videos.

Juror Antonia Boström, Director of Curatorial Affairs at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, will select award-winning artists. The Artists Coalition will award $2,000 in cash prizes. Artists who have received 2 or more awards may enter but are not eligible for an award. Accepted artists will be notified beginning May 22. An illustrated digital catalog with an essay by Ms. Boström will be produced. The Artists Coalition provides insurance for the exhibition and takes a 30% commission on work sold. Accepted works must be delivered June 26-28 and may be shipped or hand-delivered. Shipped work will be returned August 27-28; hand-delivered work must be picked up August 23.
