About This Call
The Kansas City Artists Coalition invites submissions for the River Market Regional Exhibition 2013. This exhibition is open to artists who are current residents of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, or Oklahoma. Entries must be original work completed in the last two years and not previously shown in The Artists Coalition's Galleries.
Submissions are accepted through April 17, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. MDT via CaFÉ at www.CallForEntry.org. The entry fee is $40 for 1-3 entries. Artists may submit 1-3 work samples (images and/or videos). All visual media is eligible. Work requiring special installation will be accepted only if the artist is available to install on June 19. For video submissions, KCAC has LG 3-D 42-inch LED monitors and blu-ray players available; artists requiring different equipment must provide it for the duration of the exhibition.
Accepted artists will be notified beginning May 8. Work is due June 13-15, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The opening reception is June 21, 5-8 p.m., and the exhibition runs through July 20. Hand-delivered works must be picked up July 26-27, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Shipped work will be returned July 25-26. The exhibition will be juried by Jerry Saltz, Senior Art Critic for New York Magazine. Awards totaling $2,000 in cash prizes will be selected by the juror. Artists who have received 2 or more awards are not eligible for an award in this exhibition. The Artists Coalition will publish an illustrated catalog with an essay by Mr. Saltz, distributed to all entrants and to contemporary art curators and gallery directors nationally. The Artists Coalition provides insurance for the exhibition and takes a 30% commission on work sold. Artists are responsible for providing their own insurance during shipment and for shipping costs to and from the gallery.
