Kansas City Artists Coalition: River Market Regional Exhibition 2010
The exhibition runs July 9 – August 7, 2010. Open to artists who are current residents of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, or Oklahoma. Entries must be original work completed in the last two years and not previously shown in The Artists Coalition's Galleries. All media is eligible. Work requiring special installation (including large or heavy works) will be accepted only if the artist is available to install the work June 30. Video artists must submit still images online and mail a DVD to: RMRE, Kansas City Artists Coalition, 201 Wyandotte, Kansas City, MO 64105. Entries are due May 19; this is not a postmark date. If accepted, video artists may be required to provide display equipment for the duration of the exhibition.
Entry fee is $20 for a minimum of 1 entry and $10 for each additional entry up to 5 total entries. Fees are non-refundable. Artists who join or renew membership by May 13, 2010 prior to entering will receive a discount coupon code for a 50% member discount. Submit 1-5 images of work online through CaFÉ at www.CallForEntry.org. Images must be good quality, showing only the artwork with no background or details, and no more than one image of the same artwork.
Artists whose works are accepted will be notified beginning June 2 via email. Work must be delivered June 23-26 (11 a.m. - 4 p.m.) for hand delivery or June 23-25 for shipped work. Shipped work must be prepaid and delivered in substantial, reusable packing cartons with return shipping provided. Hand-delivered work must be picked up August 8 (3-5 p.m.) or August 11-12 (11 a.m. - 4 p.m.). Shipped work will be returned August 11-12. The Artists Coalition provides insurance for the exhibition; artists are responsible for insurance during shipment. The Artists Coalition takes 30% commission on work sold. Juror Barbara O'Brien, Curator at Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, will select $2,000 in cash prizes. Artists who have received 2 or more awards are not eligible for an award. An illustrated catalog with an essay by O'Brien will be sent to all entrants and distributed to contemporary art curators and gallery directors nationally.
