Kansas City Artists Coalition Proposals for Exhibitions & International Residency

Kansas City Artists Coalition (KCAC) produces exhibitions in three galleries and programs special events in the Project Room. Artists may be selected for solo, two-person, or group exhibits.

The Mallin Gallery is a loft-type gallery with 1,420 square feet, 12-foot ceiling height, and 109 feet of linear hanging space. It features hardwood floors, storefront windows with blinds, and suspended lighting 9½ feet from the floor. The Jacqueline B. Charno Gallery (690 square feet, 88 feet of linear hanging space) is immediately accessible through the Mallin Gallery. The Underground Gallery is KCAC's members-only gallery with 140 feet of linear hanging space, 102-inch ceiling height, cement floors, and an 80 x 36-inch door entry. The Project Room (560 square feet, 54 feet of linear hanging space) adjoins the Residency and features A/V availability.

All media is accepted. Work must have been completed in the past two years. Open to all artists, with special interest in artists from the Plains/Midwest. Women and artists of color are encouraged to apply. Artists will be notified after the first of the year. Submit 10-20 digital images, artist statement, CV or resume, exhibition proposal, and support materials (PDFs of reviews, catalogs, etc.). An optional inventory sheet with thumbnail images and artwork information may be included. KCAC carries fine art insurance, but artists must insure their work to and from the gallery. KCAC takes a commission on works sold. Please indicate any scheduling conflicts in your proposal. The Underground is only available to KCAC members. Complete proposals are due October 15.
