About This Call
The Kansas City Artists Coalition invites proposals for exhibitions, residency, and the Snap Space program. The Exhibition Series explores the diversity of expression that shapes contemporary culture, art, and ideas. KCAC is a space for innovative and experimental art that does not readily lend itself to commercial venues.
Snap Space is a new exhibition program for experimental exhibitions by artists 35 and younger, located in the Project Room. KCAC encourages young artists, collaborators, and curators to propose 3-week exhibitions. Exhibitors are encouraged to facilitate workshops, demonstrations, talks, or panels throughout the exhibition. The Residency at the Artists Coalition strives to build and improve intercultural understanding while providing artists an opportunity to participate in the dynamic arts scene in Kansas City.
Applicants must submit 10-20 images, an artist's statement, and a CV or resume. Optional materials include links to websites, PDFs, reviews, catalogs, and show announcements. All applications must be of original work completed in the last two years and not previously shown in The Artists Coalition's galleries. All media is eligible. Work requiring special installation will be accepted only if the artist is available to install. Video artists must provide projectors for installations and submit video stills with a link to videos online. KCAC carries fine art insurance, but artists must insure their work to and from the gallery. KCAC takes a 30% commission on works sold. Only current KCAC members are eligible for exhibitions in the Underground Gallery. Only artists 35 and under are eligible for Snap Space exhibitions. Selected proposals will be scheduled beginning in summer 2018.
