About This Call
The 2026-2027 Fellowship program period is July 2026 – June 2027. Artists must be able to schedule a residency during that time. The Fellowship group exhibition schedule is to be determined. Artists enrolled in a degree-granting program during the fellowship program period are not eligible for the Fellowship, but are eligible for the Artist-in-Residence program.
Each year, Kala provides fellowships to artists from a variety of disciplines based on conceptual creativity, originality, and artistic excellence in and across multiple media. Eligible categories include Craft/Traditional Arts, Photography, Drawing, Film/Video/New Media, Mixed-Media/Multi-Discipline, Painting, and Sculpture. International artists are eligible to apply.
Submission deadline: March 1, 2026. Application fee: $25. Artists are encouraged to apply to both the Fellowship and Artist Residency programs using a single application with the same March 1st, 2026 deadline.
