About This Call
Juxtaposition: Contemporary Collage is a national juried art exhibition seeking submissions that explore contemporary collage. The exhibition welcomes all mediums that encompass collage, assemblage, photomontage, digital collage, and mixed-media approaches using found imagery, cut-outs, typography, cut-and-paste, and installation. Paper on paper submissions are welcome, as well as submissions using disparate objects, sources, and materials. Works should be less than 72" X 72". Both contemporary and traditional pieces that create a visually-compelling complement or counterpoint to Barrett Art Center's 1840s Greek Revival townhouse interior are invited.
The juror is Marshall N. Price, Nancy Hanks Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Nasher Museum of Art at Duke University. Awards include $500 Juror's Prize, $200 Second Prize, and $125 Honorable Mention. Entry deadline is April 1, 2019. Exhibition dates are June 8 – July 20, 2019. Notification of acceptance will be provided 10-14 days from the deadline. Delivery dates are May 20, 21, 22, 2019, or by special arrangement.

Members should email [email protected] or call 845-471-2550 for coupon code. BAC collects 20% commission on artwork by Members and 30% on non-Member artwork.
