Just My Height Art Shows: Letters & Numbers

Just My Height Art Shows displays fine art at 36 inches high, at the eye level of young children. The organization defies convention by making fine art accessible to children as part of the audience. This exhibition, held at Aventura Mall in Aventura, Florida, runs from Tuesday, March 7 through Saturday, March 11, 2017, in a pop-up gallery in public space.

The theme is "Letters and Numbers," in keeping with the mission of the Miami-Dade Family Learning Partnership, the show's beneficiary. While actual letters and numbers are not required, children ages 5-12 should be able to see how the theme is interpreted within their scope of understanding. Artwork should not be childish or juvenile but must be family-friendly (PG-13). The show will include hands-on art activities and a scavenger hunt for children and adults.

Open to professional and emerging artists and illustrators residing in the United States, age 18 and older. All artwork types and media are acceptable (2-D, 3-D, digital, video, painting, photography, fiber, ceramic, wood, collage, mixed media, installations, etc.). Artwork must not exceed 30 inches on any side, including the frame; installation pieces may exceed these parameters with prior arrangement. Entry is free. All artwork must be available for sale at a maximum price of $2,500. Aventura Mall takes a 50% commission on all sales; the mall donates all its proceeds to the Miami-Dade Family Learning Partnership. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs and assume all risk for damage during transit and exhibition. Artwork delivery is between Saturday, February 25 and Friday, March 3, 2017. Artists whose work is selected will be notified by Friday, February 10, 2017. Artwork pickup is Sunday, March 12 or Monday, March 13, 2017; all artwork must be picked up within 10 business days of the show's closing.
