About This Call
The Juried Student Art Show (JSAS) is exclusively for UAA students. Students must enter their Student ID number to submit artwork to the Hugh McPeck Gallery. Entries cannot have been entered into any previous juried exhibition in the Hugh McPeck Gallery (pieces showcased in Foundations, Clay Body, or 2D/3D remain eligible). Limit of two entries per student. Works accepted in all media forms.
Submissions require 1-2 images. Entry fee is $15.00 per submission, non-refundable. Artwork must arrive ready to be displayed, including framing and hanging materials. Gallery staff cannot modify pieces. Artwork over 40 lbs must be installed by the artist. Students' most outstanding artworks are selected by guest juror Brian Walker II. Awards are given for demonstration of superior skill, creativity, and technique. Awards include $1000 for Best of Show and $1000 in other cash prizes. UAA encourages sales of work and charges a 10% commission; mark NFS on your application if work is not for sale.
Entry deadline: Sunday, March 19th, 2023 at 11:59 PM MST (9:59 PM AKST). Notification of acceptance status: Tuesday, March 21st. Drop-off day: Friday, March 24th. Juror Lecture: Wednesday, March 29th at 7:00 PM AKST in the Fine Arts Building, Room ART105; final acceptance list released after lecture. Exhibition opens: Thursday, March 30th with reception at 5:00 PM AKST. Exhibition closes: Thursday, April 27th. Artwork pickup: Friday, April 28th. Artwork must be picked up on the designated pickup day; if left after that day, the Gallery reserves the right to dispose of the artwork.
