About This Call
This juried museum exhibition is open to all current AWA Members in good standing. The exhibition will be held at Loveland Museum. Applications may be submitted from March 29 through May 10, 2024, with finalists announced on or before May 31, 2024.
Eligible artwork must be of original concept and design, with artists retaining copyright. 2D works must have been completed in the past 2 years and have not been shown in a prior AWA show. 3D works must have been completed in the past 5 years and have not been shown in a prior AWA show. Acceptable mediums for painting include oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, egg tempera, pastel, color ink, and encaustic. Acceptable mediums for drawing include conte crayon, colored pencil, graphite, charcoal, pen & ink, scratchboard, and original hand-pulled prints. Acceptable mediums for sculpture include cast metal, fabricated metal, stone, glass, wood, and fired permanent mediums such as terra cotta, stoneware, porcelain, and earthenware. Mixed medium works using these materials with textiles or fabric art as minor components are acceptable. Not acceptable mediums include craft, jewelry, photography, digital prints, giclee prints, textiles, fiber art, and any work containing computer-generated elements. Maximum entries are six per artist, with a maximum of one entry per accepted artist juried into the exhibition.
Maximum size for paintings and drawings is 40 inches on the longest side unframed. Maximum size for sculpture is 8 feet in height including base or pedestal, with a weight limit of 200 pounds. All works entered must be for sale and available to sell after acceptance. Artists will receive 55% of the sales price for 2D works and 60% for 3D works. The museum will receive 35% for both 2D and 3D, and AWA will receive 10% for 2D and 5% for 3D. Shipping for sold pieces will not be charged to the buyer. All artists accepted into the exhibition will contribute $50 towards production of the show catalog and will receive 3 print copies. Entries must be submitted through showsubmit.com as high-quality JPEG files at least 1920 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB.
