Jordan Art Walk, Exploring Nature Through Art

Jordan Art Walk is seeking sculptures for a three-year public art installation in East Jordan, Michigan. Accepted artists will receive a $600 stipend. Sculptures will be displayed for three years, and if an artist chooses to offer their work for sale, a 20% commission is paid to the committee. If sold, the work will remain in place until the end of the three-year period or be replaced by the artist with another sculpture approved by the committee. Concrete pads will be provided to fit the works of art. Artists are responsible for transporting, installing, and de-installing their work.

Artists may submit up to three entries digitally by April 15, 2024 to the East Jordan Chamber of Commerce ([email protected]). Multiple views of each entry may be submitted. A jury of local artists and citizens will make selections based on artistic merit, safe design and construction, durability for outside four-season display, and compatibility with the East Jordan environment. Artists will be notified of acceptance by April 30th, with installations taking place by June 10th.

Submissions must include a completed information sheet with photographs of each piece, including title, artist's statement, dimensions, base size requirement, materials, fabrication, and price. Artists must provide contact information including mailing and email addresses, phone numbers, and website/resume if available. Eligibility is open to any professional or student artist 18 years or older.
