About This Call
The Johnson City Public Art Committee seeks artists or art teams to design oversized stencils for sidewalks beside storm drains in Downtown Johnson City and surrounding neighborhoods. Installation is planned for December 2026. The designs use Rainworks Invisible Spray, a superhydrophobic coating that is practically invisible on dry concrete and appears when wet. The eco-friendly spray lasts about 2–4 months; the Committee may reinstall designs up to two times in new locations, maintaining the exhibit for about 8 months to a year.
