About This Call
The Jeanette Best Exhibit Program features exceptional local and regional artists in Northwind Art's Jeanette Best Gallery, located at 701 Water Street in downtown Port Townsend. The proposal process is open for 2025 and beyond, with proposals reviewed on a monthly, ongoing basis and artists notified of their status.
Exhibit proposals are reviewed by a panel of Northwind curators who evaluate the quality, professionalism, and sales potential of proposed exhibits. The selection committee looks for regionally excellent artists, strong exhibit themes, and a cohesive body of work that reflects a variety of media, techniques, and styles. Submissions require a $25 proposal fee and should include 5-20 images and up to 6 videos (5-26 total samples) representing the proposed exhibit vision and theme, along with a written statement describing the exhibit concept, artist bio, and exhibit history.
If selected, exhibiting artists will work under a standard 50/50 commission split with the gallery. All work must be available for sale. Selected artists will be asked to give an artist talk to volunteers and visitors, and may be asked to attend other gallery events such as Port Townsend's monthly Art Walk. While the gallery particularly encourages submissions from artists in Jefferson, Clallam, Mason, Kitsap, and Island counties, all regional and beyond proposals will be considered. Contact [email protected] with questions.
