About This Call
This exhibition is open to Society of Western Artists (SWA) members only. Artists may enter up to 4 works at $20 for the first entry and $20 per additional entry. The same painting may be entered in only two non-consecutive shows, plus one Annual Show.
Accepted mediums include Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic/Mixed Media, Pastel, and Non-representational work. Paintings must be original art conceived by the artist and completed within the last three years. Minimum size is 10" per side or 100 square inches in area; maximum size is 48" or 2,304 square inches in area, including frame. Work must not include classwork, copies, computerized art, work printed by commercial process, oil paintings under glass or Plexiglas, or paintings over photographs. A short biography must be provided with each entry.
Framing must use flat hangers with wire only, with no hardware projecting beyond the back of the frame. No eye hooks or nails should be used; tape or plastic sleeves should cover wire ends. White or off-white mats are encouraged. Submit high-quality JPEG image files at least 1500 pixels on the longest edge with a maximum file size of 30 MB. Images should show only the artwork itself, properly oriented, with no visible matting, frames, or background distractions. Entry fees are non-refundable and must be submitted and paid by the entry deadline of January 6, 2025. Entries cannot be accepted or changed after the deadline, and incomplete entries will be disqualified. Contact Yvonne Newhouse at [email protected] for questions about the prospectus, eligibility, artwork requirements, drop-off, pick-up, or sales.
