About This Call

This is a public art mural commission for the Jacksonville Jaguars Miller Electric Center. One large-format digital mural will be designed for print on opaque vinyl and installed on 2 of 3 mural locations along the South Façade of the Fan Amenity Grandstands. The mural will be viewable from the exterior of the building only. Mural dimensions are 12 feet high by 44 feet 9 inches wide. The vinyl will be framed and installed on flat architectural precast wall panels. The awarded vinyl printing firm will provide their recommended film for the precast surface, and final material selection must be approved by the owner.

Artists must be over 21 years old, not currently enrolled in a formal degree program, and have been creating and installing public art for more than three years. Selected artists will be responsible for completing an RFQ response, developing a proposal, presenting final designs, coordinating with the JAGS/CCGJ project management team, and submitting print-ready digital files in specifications required by the vinyl printer. Artist services include site visits for community engagement (offered in-person or virtually as needed) and design presentations. The mural art design honorarium is $5,000, which includes all costs to the artist for artwork proposals, design, electronic submission, and travel.

Application requirements include an artist statement, current resume, letter of interest, contact information for all team members, 3-7 images with descriptions of completed mural projects, and three professional references with names, addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses. The project timeline includes finalist notification by November 21-23, 2022, finalist concept designs due January 20, 2023, final design due March 2, 2023, and site installation May 15 - June 16, 2023, with a grand opening dedication ceremony scheduled for summer 2023.
