About This Call

Indiana University East invites artists to submit entries to the 2nd National Juried Exhibition themed "Art + Science." The exhibition will be held at the Tom Thomas Gallery in Whitewater Hall from March 28th to May 13th, 2016, with a reception, awards ceremony, and juror's talk on Thursday, April 21st, 2016.

Artists are invited to submit two-dimensional, three-dimensional, and video work (no installation or performance) that address the theme of Art + Science. Science can be interpreted broadly, including anatomy, physiology, botany, zoology, biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, meteorology, environmental science, psychology, geography, and computer technology. Works in which science provided inspiration or where the scientific method is integral to the process are welcome. Two-dimensional entries may not exceed 48" in width and 60" in height; three-dimensional works may not exceed 18" in any direction and must not weigh more than 40 lbs. All work must be original and created by the submitting artist. All artists resident in the U.S. aged 18 and older are eligible.

The entry fee is $20 for the first work and $5 for each additional work, with a maximum of 5 images or videos per submission. The submission deadline is February 12th, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. MST. Submissions are made via www.callforentry.org. The juror is Lily Simonson, an artist based in Los Angeles. Three cash awards will be given: 1st place $1000, 2nd place $500, and 3rd place $250. Works accepted for exhibition must be available for the entire 10-week duration. Artists are responsible for their own shipping costs. For questions, contact Professor Ann Kim at [email protected].
