It's OK to Laugh

O'Hanlon Center for the Arts invites artists to submit work for "It's OK to Laugh," an online juried exhibition celebrating humor in art. The exhibition seeks work that conveys wit and levity, exploring how humor helps us make sense of the world.

Each artist may submit up to 3 individual pieces of artwork for consideration. Diptychs and triptychs are considered 1 piece and must be submitted as one image. Film and video are not accepted at this time. Work does not need to be for sale. The entry fee is $40 for non-members and $30 for O'Hanlon members (use coupon code OH30). New members can join for $95/year and receive a free submission. Works previously shown at O'Hanlon Gallery in-house or online are not eligible. The exhibition is open to all artists ages 16 and older.

Submissions deadline is April 3, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. PDT. Artists will be notified of results by email by April 8, 2022. A Zoom roundtable art discussion to celebrate the show will be held on April 19 at 4 p.m. Pacific time, open to all selected artists. The juror is M. Louise Stanley, a painter known for her humorous indictments of gender inequity, sexual politics, and economic disparity through narrative and figuration.
