About This Call
It's A Small World is an exhibit celebrating the work of artists who create on a small scale. Whether painting on the head of a pin or on a grain of rice, sculpting miniature animals or a famous landmark out of pencil lead, whether an origami unicorn or dollhouse furnishings, all artists who work in small scale are encouraged to apply. This exhibit is open to artists nationwide.
Artwork Requirements: Dimensions of the submitted piece must not exceed 4" x 4". Framed pieces may not exceed 6" x 6". Giclee reproductions printed on canvas are not permitted. All work must be original and entirely the work of the artist. Work that has been previously displayed at TCA is not eligible. All artworks must arrive ready to hang. If framed, work must be suitably matted (white, black, or neutral colors preferred), simply framed, and firmly wired with no sawtooth hangers.
Timeline and Awards: Entry deadline is March 21, 2025. Online jury process occurs March 22-28, 2025, with artist notifications the week of March 31, 2025. Shipped art is due April 7-11, 2025, and hand-delivered art is due April 14, 2025. The opening reception is Friday, April 18, 2025, 5-7pm. The exhibition closes May 25, 2025, and art must be picked up by May 26, 2025. Juror is Emily Wolverton (The Mini Time Machine Museum of Miniatures). Awards include Best of Show ($400), Award of Excellence ($300), Award of Merit ($200), and two Honorable Mentions ($100 each). Entry fee is $20 (non-refundable). Submit up to 20 entries. All work must be for sale. TCA retains a 40% commission, with 60% going to the artist. Artists are responsible for shipping to and from TCA. TCA Members can use code SMALL25 for 10% off the entry fee. All artists must be 18 years or older.
