It's a Jungle Out There! Animal Photography Competition

This juried photo competition recognizes photographers for their work in the animal kingdom. It is open to all amateur and professional photographers from around the world, with selected works displayed in an online gallery. Color, black and white, grayscale, monochrome, and sepia works are accepted. The theme is ANIMALS—the photo's content may contain other subjects such as people, objects, or landscapes and may be realistic or abstract, but the overall concept must pertain to animals. For wild and non-domesticated animals, photographers are asked not to manipulate or disturb the animal's natural environment. All animals are welcome, including mammals, insects, fish, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and invertebrates.

Entry fee is $35 for 1-3 entries. Payment is non-refundable but guarantees the entry will be judged. Over $500 in cash and prizes will be awarded: Best of Show Amateur Photo receives $100 cash plus 2 free entries into future calls; Best of Show Professional Photo receives $100 cash plus 1 free entry into a future call. Several honorable mentions will receive free entries into future calls (valued at $35 each). For every 100 entries, the gallery will add an extra $50 in prize money split evenly between the two Best of Show winners. Photographers choose either the amateur or professional class when entering; only one class may be selected for all photos from the same photographer.

All entries must be original work with no signatures, borders, digital frames, mats, names, logos, or watermarks. Images must be in JPG format, minimum 1200 pixels on the longest side, and up to 5MB. Entries are accepted April 11 - June 11, 2023. Judging occurs June 12-13, 2023, with notifications emailed on or before June 14, 2023. Gallery selections display beginning June 15, 2023. Works must be family-friendly; nudity, graphic content, vulgar text, or suggestive images will not be accepted. Previous award-winning works from the gallery's other competitions are eligible to enter.
