Iteration Reiteration

Iteration Reiteration is an open call seeking artwork that embraces pattern and repetition as the focal point, a complementary element within a piece, or as a fundamental part of the creative process. Patterns and repetitive elements, integral to the art and design of countless cultures and artistic methods, offer viewers a framework to interpret information through recurring arrangements. All visual mediums are accepted including but not limited to painting, printmaking, textile and fiber, video and animation, photography, sculpture, ceramics, collage, performance, sound, and mixed media. Works must be original and completed within the past five years.

This exhibition will include both a physical gallery show located in Washington, DC and a virtual exhibition. Jurors are Roya Amirsoleymani, Addoley Dzegede, and Christopher Kardambikis. Event dates are August 1, 2024 through September 2, 2025.

Entry fee is $35 for the first application; a second application is $15 (with code REPEAT). A maximum of two applications per artist are permitted. Each application is for one artwork. Work sample requirements: 1-3 images, 0-1 audio files, 0-2 videos (1-3 total samples). All artists must be at least 18 years old. Artwork must be original and completed within the past five years. All physically installed artwork must be for sale unless agreed upon by the gallery. Touchstone takes a 40% commission on all artwork sold during the exhibition or if the gallery acts as the agent. Accepted works must be received by July 28, 2024. All artwork must fit through a standard doorway. Suspended works cannot weigh over 10 lbs. Performance-based works will be scheduled with the gallery after juror selections are finalized.
