About This Call
"Freaks and the Human Ideal – an International Student Works on Paper Exhibition" (ISPE) is a juried exhibition open to currently enrolled graduate and undergraduate students (academic year 2014-2015) from around the world. The exhibition will be juried by Yuji Hiratsuka, an established intaglio printmaker and professor of fine arts at Oregon State University. The exhibition focuses on the present generation of student artists, seeking creative expressions that explore culture, identity, and the human experience through visual work.
Eligible work includes original works on paper: drawings, paintings, and prints. Photographs, Giclee reproductions, and 100% digital work are not eligible; however, hybrid digital-traditional combinations are acceptable. Paper size cannot exceed 30" x 40". A maximum of 3 entries per student is allowed. The entry fee is $10.00 for the first entry and $5.00 for each additional submission. Selected works must be received by March 28, 2015. The exhibition will mat and frame all accepted works for presentation in the University of Hawaii Hilo Mo'okini Library. Exhibition dates: April 13 – May 8, 2015. Jury results will be announced via email on March 9, 2015. Work will be returned via U.S. Priority Mail or appropriate international carrier; allow 6-8 weeks for return. International work may take longer to arrive.
