Is It Me?

Is It Me? is an international juried exhibition exploring themes of self-actualization, personal transformation, and identity. The exhibition invites artists to submit work that examines the roadblocks to self-actualization and questions the nature of maturity, health, wellness, and personal growth. Artists are encouraged to submit work in a range of media, including digital, film, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, video, and installation art.

The exhibition will be held March 10 through April 14, 2023 at The Art Effect's Trolley Barn Gallery, 489 Main St., Poughkeepsie, New York, with an Opening Reception on Friday, March 10, 5-7pm. Artwork selection is conducted collaboratively by a curator and accomplished youth from The Art Effect's curatorial program. Selected artworks will be displayed in the gallery and in an online exhibition.

Entry fee is $20. Artists may submit 1-15 images, up to 3 audio files, and up to 3 video files. Artwork should not exceed 7 feet in any direction; 2D artwork should not weigh more than 65 pounds. Artwork must be exhibition-ready with appropriate frames and hardware. Artists are responsible for transportation and return shipping. Exhibiting artists may specify a retail price for their work; The Art Effect retains a 20% commission for members and current students, or 30% for non-members. Artists of all ages are welcome regardless of location or identity. Notification of accepted artwork will be sent by January 2, with delivery of accepted artwork due February 6-24. Shipping and pickup of accepted artwork is April 25-May 13.
