Invitational Call for Exelon/Constellation Baltimore Headquarters

Exelon Corporation invites selected artists to submit proposals for artwork to be installed at the Exelon/Constellation Baltimore Headquarters. This is an invitational call for Round One, with submissions due June 1, 2015.

The project seeks artwork in 2D and/or 3D form (all media considered) that expresses Exelon's vision, brand, and values. Artwork will be placed in the building's main lobby security desk area and within corporate spaces. The artwork must be durable, low-maintenance, and appropriate for high-traffic areas. Artists should consider themes including innovation, progress, community, collaboration, diversity, reliability, sustainability, and continuous forward motion. The creative use of Exelon's logo and brand colors is encouraged. Artists are invited to learn about the Baltimore community and Exelon employees to inform their work.

Submissions must include: a detailed narrative describing the proposed piece(s), including inspiration, concept, design, intent, and any electrical, structural, or lighting assumptions; sketch(es) of the proposed artwork (no videos, maquettes, or samples accepted in this round); and a description of the fabrication and installation approach with cost estimate. Up to 4 applications are allowed per artist, with 1-12 images required. Selected artists will be notified by June 30, 2015. Maquettes or detailed drawings are due in August, with final selections in Q4 2015 and installations beginning in the second half of 2016. Exelon reserves the right to modify project objectives, schedule, or activities at any time.
