About This Call
Into View is the 2016 Juried Student Exhibition highlighting a range of student work from colleges and universities across North America. The exhibition aims to be inclusive of traditional and non-traditional ways of working, showcasing the breadth of work by the next generation of makers in the metalsmithing and jewelry field. The student exhibition will be held onsite in conjunction with the 2016 SNAGnext event. Jurors are Marthe Le Van and Barbara Minor.
All students, whether part-time or full-time, under the direction of faculty in any North American degree/diploma/certificate-granting institution are welcome to apply. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and SNAG membership is not required. Images of up to three pieces of original artwork can be submitted and must have been created between January 2015 and February 2016. Artworks included in previous SNAG student exhibitions are not eligible. Students must provide the name(s) of metal faculty teaching at their institution.
Submit one to three images of work with title, material, dimensions, and year of completion. All submissions must include an artist statement and one-page resume. Entry fee is $35 for nonmembers and $25 for SNAG student members. All work must be original, and by submitting images for jurying, the artist agrees that SNAG has the right to retain, duplicate and use these images for marketing and display purposes without further contact or compensation.
