About This Call
SciArt Santa Fe, in partnership with Los Alamos MainStreet and Creative District, invites science-informed artwork submissions for Into the Realms of Possibility, a group exhibition to be presented at Fuller Lodge Gallery and other possible venues in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The exhibition seeks artworks from a diverse range of perspectives and media, including visual art, sculpture, sound, robotics, bio art, short films, documentaries, and performance. Submissions should communicate a contemporary research-based investigation at the intersection of art and science with a high level of aesthetic quality.
Fuller Lodge, part of the Manhattan Project National Historical Park, was built as a school in 1928 and purchased by the Manhattan Project in 1942. The gallery will host the exhibition from June 28 to July 27, 2024, overlapping with the Los Alamos ScienceFest, now in its 17th year. The 2024 festival focuses on intersections of art and science, particularly in the biological and digital realms.
Eligibility is limited to practitioners 18 years of age and over based in the US West region (AZ, CO, NM, UT, NV, KS, OK, TX, CA). Entry fee is $15.00. Applicants may submit up to 2 applications and must provide 5-10 images, 0-1 audio files, and 0-3 videos (5-10 total media files). A 2000-character artist statement describing how the proposed work integrates art and science and a 2000-character description of exhibition needs are required. Shipping and miscellaneous production costs will be negotiated.
