INTERIORS

The Cape Cod Museum of Art invites visual artists to submit artwork for a national juried exhibition titled INTERIORS. The exhibition explores how artists interpret the concept of interior—whether as a representational viewpoint from inside a home, workplace, studio, or cafe; a place of worship; or as a means to express internal feelings and emotions.

Eligibility is open to artists 18 years or older working in 2D and 3D media, including drawing, painting, printing, photography, collage, assemblage, and sculpture. Only original works may be submitted; Giclee prints are not acceptable, but digital photography and digital print methods are acceptable. The entry fee is $40 for up to three submissions and is non-refundable. Submissions must include one high-resolution digital image per artwork (1-5mb), title, year completed, medium, dimensions, and an artist statement (up to 100 words).

2D work must not exceed 48" x 48" including frame and must be professionally framed (Plexiglas only if shipped; no glass due to breakage risk). 2D work must be wired and ready to hang with no saw tooth hangers, gallery clips, or taped edges. Free-standing 3D work must not exceed 72"h x 36"w x 36"d; pedestal 3D work must not exceed 38"h x 18"w x 18"d. All work must have a label affixed indicating artist name, title, medium, date created, and insurance value. Work must be received by January 10, 2020, and cannot be withdrawn before the exhibition ends. The exhibition runs January 16 - April 5, 2020, with an opening reception on January 24, 2020 from 5:30-7:00 pm. Artists will be notified by email by December 19, 2019. Up to 40 artists will be selected to exhibit. Awards include Most Fitting to the Theme ($500), Juror's Choice Award ($200), and two Honorable Mentions ($50 each). The juror is Andre van der Wende.
