About This Call
Interdependence is a 2-D art exhibition organized by Art As Healing Foundation in partnership with Riverside Art Center. The exhibition will be held at the Riverside Art Center's Off-Center Gallery (64 N. Huron, Ypsilanti, Michigan) from September 6-27, 2019.
The exhibition theme explores human interconnectedness and our relationship with the planet and each other. Artists are invited to submit work that illustrates the connectedness between individuals and communities, between species and ecosystems, or between earth and natural systems. The exhibition accepts all 2-D media including painting, drawing, photography, mixed-media, and digital work. Works must not exceed 48 inches on the longest edge and no deeper than 3 inches. All accepted works must be properly wired and ready to hang.
This is a regional call for artists in Michigan and Ohio. Entry fee is $35. Artists must be able to deliver work to Riverside Art Center between 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 29th. Artwork will be picked up on Saturday, September 28th between noon-3 p.m. Jurying takes place after August 15th with notifications sent by August 20th. Awards include 1st Place $300, 2nd Place $200, and 3rd Place $100. Work is not required to be for sale, but is preferred; Riverside Art Center retains 30% of any sales. An opening reception will be held Friday, September 6th from 6:30-9 p.m. as part of Ypsilanti's First Fridays celebration.
