About This Call
Columbia City Gallery announces a Call for Entries for its 15th Annual Juried Exhibit. The exhibit will run from August 10 - September 18, 2022. Jurors are Lisa Bulmash Myers (artist/curator), Kamla Kakaria (Artist, 2D Studio Manager/Pratt Fine Art Center, Seattle Print Arts Board President), and Tommy Gregory (artist/curator, Senior Program Manager for Public Art/Port of Seattle).
Artists in all media (2D, 3D, and video) are encouraged to submit artwork completed within the past two years that reflects the theme: Interconnection: Finding Connection during our Siloed Times. The theme explores how people have connected or not connected during recent years, including the pandemic, political changes, and social upheaval. For a $25 entry fee, you may submit up to 2 pieces of artwork. Submit via Café (callforentry.org) with up to 2 images of 2D/3D artworks and up to 2 videos per entry. Entry is not complete until payment is received.
Awards: $500 First place, $300 Second place, and $200 Third place. Notifications will be emailed by July 13, 2022. Accepted artwork must be delivered August 8 before noon. The Artists' Reception and Awards Ceremony is August 13 (5-7pm). All unsold artwork must be picked up September 19. All artwork in the exhibit must be for sale; the gallery takes a 50% commission on works sold. 2D works must be properly prepared for exhibition with wire securely attached. Sculpture must be able to stand on its own without wobble. Video installation equipment needs can be discussed. Each accepted work must arrive with an ID label with artist name and artwork title securely attached to the back of frame or bottom of sculpture. If you cannot deliver your artwork, shipping costs are your responsibility. A pre-printed shipping label for return shipment must be included with your work. The Gallery reserves the right to reject work that is not represented accurately in the image or that arrives damaged, poorly constructed, or poorly presented. This is a regional call for the Pacific Northwest. Contact: [email protected] or 206-760-9843.
